Cannabis in America
"I had four Chiefs of Police on. And the question I raised was: If neither one was legal, marijuana or liquor, and you could only legalize one, what would you legalize? And they all answered at the same time: MARIJUANA. Because they have never seen murder committed while someone is under the influence of marijuana. And 80% of the homicides they’d investigated were alcohol related. I think alcohol is more dangerous than marijuana.”

Opiate pills sold by the Pharmaceutical Industry generated $9.4 billion dollars ($9,400,000,000) in 2012.
The only source for black market pills is the legal market. And the legal market is extremely over-prescribed, which leads to diversion. Cannabis could replace Opiates in MOST pain management situations. The fact that Cannabis is still federally illegal for medical use in America while OxyContin generates $2+ billion dollars each year is a perfect example of government corruption.
Opiates are highly addictive, perhaps more so than any other type of drug, and they are routinely prescribed to teenage kids for their wisdom teeth removal. This is highly irresponsible of American society. These children must have legal access to Cannabis food that contains lots of CBD.
Opiates are not necessary to manage pain in most situations; Cannabis can do so effectively, without addiction or overdose.
